随同去年9月底《超时空要塞F》最终回放送结束之际，TV动画片尾便登布了剧场版制作的消息，广大死忠为之虎躯一震，翘首以待。在2009年1月发售的Macross系列作品的综合杂志《Macross Ace》Vol.001当中，些许剧场版情报流出，其中在河森正治总监督＆菅野洋子特别会谈中，两位业内人士对将在2009年上映的《超时空要塞MF》剧场版进行了将近3小时的对话，从中我们得知了剧场版将计划让库兰往爱情方面发展，补足TV中的遗憾，原本在TV中河森神棍的许多建议未被采纳的建议今回将在剧场版中表现出来，而剧中也许会对TV系列进行回顾，引用河森的说法便是为了能让初次接触MF的人对该作有个大概的了解，所以在角色的立场上会有所变动，而至于库兰是否顶替双歌姬的位置菅野洋子回答有机会的话会尝试。 在忙碌于剧场版制作将近半年的时间内，6月份发售的《Macross Ace...。It is the year 2022.
